In this example, we’re going to set up an email-based two-factor authentication process.
To do this you will need to go to System -> tools -> Multi Factor -> Configuration.
At this point there will open the following screen:

To add a new multi-factor authentication method, you will need to click on the Add Configurations button located in the upper right corner of the page.
Now in the new screen we will have the following fields available:

To configure the new multi-factor email authentication, you will need to set:
- In the “Name” field the name that we will give to this authentication.
- In the “Type” field the type of authentication, in our case email.
- In the “Enabled Groups” field, which groups will be enabled for this authentication.
- In the “Status” field instead we will define if this authentication is active.
Once you have selected the authentication type as “Email” the following new fields will appear:

Especially:
- In the “Mailbox” field we will define with which Mailbox the emails with the MFA authentication request must be sent
- In the “Mail Template” field we will have to go to indicate the email template for the authentication request, in Deepser there is one already predefined: “MULTI FACTOR – Token Generated – [multifactor_token_generated]“.
Finally, we will have to click the “Save” or “Apply” button to save the new authentication just configured
