Empowered End User (EEU)
An EEU (Empowered End User) is a licensed user who has access to specific features on the End User Portal, such as:
- Approval workflows
- Advanced data visibility.
The license type in this case is different from the license for backend users of Deepser, as it can only be used for End Users who therefore have access solely to the customer portal.
You can check the available and active licenses directly from the main users’ screen in the Backend (System > Permissions > Users):
Setting an end user as empowered, can be done by setting to “Yes” the “Empowered” field on the User model formtemplate. The “Empowered” field is visible for User model with role of “End User“.
NOTE: You can set it to “Yes” only if you have the EEU license type available. Additionally, it can only be set for users with the “Users” (End User) role.
EEU – Approvals
The Empowered End User can approve or refuse an approval process. As an EEU all the approvals will be visible through the user menu in the End Users portal.
After clicking “My Approvals” EEU will be able to see the approvals grid assigned to them.
You can find more details on how to use the Approval flow by referring to the dedicated article here.
EEU – Access Users and Groups
When a user is configured as ‘Empowered,’ they gain expanded visibility access for operations and other models, in addition to the approval flow. This is achieved through the Access Users and Groups fields, which are available by default in the Operation model and allow for more granular control over user permissions and data visibility.
- Access User: By using this field in an operation, you can grant each individual EEU access to specific entities, such as operations. Once access is granted, the EEU will be able to view the ticket through the end-user portal.
- Access Group: Like the Access User field, when populated within an operation, it allows you to extend the visibility of an entity if the user who is part of the group is of the “Empowered” type.
