Category Visibility Management
Model Visibility
On model visibility tab you can limit the usage and access of a category on a model. For example, you can set a category to be visible only on operation model.
To configure a new model visibility, just click on the ‘+’ button inside model visibility tab.
Model Visibility – Example
Below there is an example of a model visibility, that limits the ‘User Equipment’ category to only operations of type ‘Request’ and ‘Incident’. When users open a ticket of type ‘request’ or ‘incident’, they will be able to view and use the ‘User Equipment’ category.
Field | Description |
Model | Select field where you can choose the model which will have visibility to this category. |
Portal Visibility | With this field you can make the category visible or not on End Users portal. |
Frontend Visibility | Select field with Yes/No values , that can set the category visible on frontend portal. |
Expression | Query Builder field that adds another layer of visibility on the category. With this field you could limit the visibility of a category if certain conditions based on model’s fields, are met. |
Expression (Script) | Scripting field that has the same functionality as the query builder, but here you can write the conditions directly by code. |
Group visibility
By configuring group visibility you can limit, users access to a category based on the group that they participate.
To set group visibility, just go under group visibility tab and select the groups of visibility on the ‘Enabled Groups’ field. In the example below, the “User Equipment” category is visible only for users that are part of “IT- First Level” or “IT Customers” groups.
