Roles configuration is mandatory to define which modules can be seen by the users.
To configure the Roles go to the menu System > Permission > Roles
The form to edit a role is divided into 2 tabs: the first (Role Info) to insert the name of the Role and the type of users that will belong to that Role.
User types and roles have already been described in the guide: Users Guide.
In the tab Role Resources we can find every module accessible by a user.
Modules are filtered by the user type selected in the tab “Role Info” in the field “Type”.
Let’s explain in detail for each user type, which modules are visibile.
Administrators can see all the modules in the system. A user with type Administrator can edit all the configurations and can see all the modules seen by Agents, Key Users and Users.
We can limit the visibility of the modules to the Administrators by unchecking them in the tab “Role Resources”.
To give full permissions (on every module) to an Administrator we can select the item All in the select-box called Resource Access.
Agents can see all modules that are not under the item System. An Agent can see all non-system modules (eg: Service, Dashboard, etc.) and inside that modules can edit also the configurations of the interface.
An Agent can create / edit / delete grids and form templates for the modules he can access.
Key Users can see all the modules not under the item System. Compared to Agents, Key Users cannot edit any configuration.
A Key User can manage the back-end requests or see the Dashboard but cannot modify grids, forms or any other interface element.
Users can only access the front-end User Portal. A User cannot usually see the requests of other users.
To be more flexible, Deepser introduces the Supervisor concept, that is described in the Advanced User Guide.
